Emily Glastonbury

Emily Glastonbury was born and raised in Hastings

The seaside girl then went to university in Bournemouth where she studied costume design, to then go onto studying scenic art

Emily moved to London where she used her scenic art training to create backgrounds for musicals, television & cinema

You can still spot her work in the background of Masterchef & Idris Elba’s Bastille Day

In 2014 Emily attended her first festival, her first Glastonbury and her first bin painting experience ❤️

This year she also met Dan Tastic Glastonbury, who a few years later proposed to her in front of 10,000 people on stage in T&C (she said yes)

They returned and married on stage during Glastonbury 2019

Emily has been a part of the Bin Painting team since her first year in 2014, painting as a volunteer, leading as a supervisor (even when pregnant) and helping with the charity bin project over the years

Emily now balances being a mother of two with running Mermaid Makes, where she takes commissions to paint bespoke mini-bins, plant pots, portraits & creates original works of art for weddings, events & theatre
